About Voice of Women Foundation
VOICE OF WOMEN FOUNDATION, the former ASTRAIA Foundation is a non-partisan, non-religious, independent charitable organization that was founded in 2010 by four visionary and powerful female leaders believing that every child, no matter of it's gender, deserves the right of education, safety, and health.
The foundation, named after the Greek goddess of justice was founded in Munich, Germany, and is active in more than 15 countries around the world. It is supported by a large network of supporters and is led today by Suraya Pakzad, one of the TIME’s 100 most influential people in 2009 that was forced to leave Afghanistan in 2021 after the take over of the Taliban regime. Ms. Pakzad is supported by a passionate board and reputable ambassadors from all areas of society.
Voice of Women supports the promotion of gender equality, female entrepreneurship, and fair treatment of women. With it"s sister organization in Afghanistan that also provides legal and social assistance for women that experience domestic violence, Voice of Women Foundation believes in the power of fair socio-economic development, digitalization, and education. Therefore, together with passionate ambassadors and volunteers, it raises awareness and funds for projects dedicated to supporting women to receive an education and live their full potential.
